September 2007 - North River Dental sponsored a garage sale to benefit Savannah Anselmo, who was in need of a liver transplant. The sale took place on Saturday, September 22nd from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm at the “green house” next to North River Dental.

Savannah, born on December 5, 2006, was diagnosed with BiliaryAtresia in April 2007. The disease, which affects approximately 1 in 15,000 births, causes inflammation and obstruction of the bile ducts resulting in the back up of bile in the liver. The bile destroys the healthy liver and forms scar tissue, further trapping the bile and causing cirrhosis of the liver and finally liver failure. Up until December 2007, Savannah had cirrhosis of the liver, and without a liver transplant, she would not have lived. On December 29th 2007, Savannah received her new liver, and since has had a phenomenal recovery.
